Frequently asked questions.

  • If you’d like to have your work in The Smalter Gallery, or be a part of an exhibit or show, we’d love to connect with you. Please use this form to submit your information to us.

  • We try to keep it simple. All sales are final for anything made by an artist (originals, prints, sculptures, local zines, etc.), anything consumable/able to be depleted (such as ink), and anything date-specific (such as calendars). If it is something like a mass produced supply (think unused brushes or how-to books), we’ll accept a return or exchange with proof of purchase. Exchanges are only available if stock permits.

We want you to be happy. Come talk to us and we’ll do what we can.

  • The Smalter Gallery prides itself on being financially accessible. We believe enjoying and investing in art should be something folks can do without breaking the bank. Peruse our online store or come by the gallery.

  • The Smalter Gallery is a community space, and we love hosting events that enrich 39th Street and KCMO at large. If you’d like to hold your event (poetry night, open mic, acoustic performance, fundraiser, etc.), please email us.

  • You don’t need to know anything about art to enjoy it, and you’ll never be judged when you drop by the gallery. All are welcome at The Smalter Gallery, so come on in, see if there’s anything that moves you, and let us know if you have any questions. We’ll be there to make you feel comfortable throughout your visit. If you decide to support a local artist and take a piece home with you, we can guide you on how to take care of your new art, too.
