Smalter Gallery Expands, Now Curating Apex Artspace.
Hello everyone!
Team Smalter has been enjoying a brief period of rest, but we wanted to check in with you to share some exciting news.
Smalter Gallery has expanded our reach, and we are now proudly curating Apex Artspace! We have entered into an agreement with the wonderful folks at Crossroads Dentistry, which houses the gallery, and we’ll be curating ongoing exhibits and hosting events at the space in the future. This will be in addition to our main gallery on W 39th.
What Does This Mean For Smalter Gallery?
Don’t worry - nothing is changing or going away in terms of our main gallery on W 39th. The Smalter Gallery remains our home; we’ve just grown our curatorial reach so that we can bring you more amazing art. We’ll continue to have our regular shows and ongoing exhibitions at the original Smalter Gallery, 1802 W 39th St., KCMO.
What is Apex Artspace?
Apex Artspace is a beautiful and offbeat gallery space located within Crossroads Dentistry at 1819 Wyandotte St, Kansas City. Why have a dental office and art gallery in one space? Why not?! Art is amazing and you should also definitely floss.* Every month at Apex there will be a reception held for First Friday - be there!
Why Have We Expanded?
Smalter Gallery has expanded because, quite frankly, the amount of awe-inspiring, moving art in the KC scene is staggering, and we want to bring as much of it to the world as possible. Our love for art and artists burns with the fire of a thousand suns.
How Can I Find Out About Events At Smalter Gallery or Apex Artspace?
All of our events will continue to be posted on the events page on our website, and we’ll continue to make Facebook event pages for those of you in the metaverse. We’ll note the location of events on all show fliers and in the details of all event pages. You can also sign up for our email newsletter here.
